Baby Hazel is great with kids, cats and dogs! She is crate trained and finally doing well with her house training! She’s an energetic bubbly girl!
Her echocardiogram confirmed that she has Pulmonary Stenosis. The good news is, she is an excellent candidate for a procedure called Balloon valvuloplasty. This procedure has a very high success rate and in Hazel’s case, it would most likely mean that she will be able to live a completely normal life afterwards. Without the procedure the cardiologist says her life expectancy will be about 4 to 5 years. The bad news is, it costs between $6000 - $8000
She is only 5 months old and the sooner the procedure is done the better the outcome is likely to be so we have to at least try!
We had put the call out for auction items a couple of months ago, we are still accepting items! Please message us with a photo and a description of anything you would like to donate.
We are also looking for an indoor venue to hold our ‘Running of the bulls’ frenchie get together near Ottawa or Montreal to help raise funds, so if you know of a suitable venue, please let us know!
With her multi drug resistant UTI, skin issues and cardiology consult she’s already cost a fortune!
We could really use your help with this sweet and expensive puppy! Please donate directly on our website
Or by etransfer or paypal to ecfbrescue@gmail.com
Thank you so much for stepping up to help these precious beings when they need it the most!
Please note that Hazel is being fostered near Gatineau, QC and is not yet available for adoption. We do not maintain a waiting list. Adoption applications are only available when a specific dog is ready for adoption.

It’s always 2 steps forwards and 3 steps backwards in rescue.

Baby Hazel had her echocardiogram. She has Pulmonary Stenosis. The good news is, she is an excellent candidate for a procedure called Balloon valvuloplasty. You may recall that Gracie had the same procedure. This procedure has a very high success rate and in Hazel’s case, it would most likely mean that she will be able to live a completely normal life afterwards. Without the procedure the cardiologist says her life expectancy will be about 4 to 5 years. The bad news is, it costs about $6000

We also finally see an improvement with her multi drug resistant UTI. She even asks for the door now when she needs to go potty!
Her skin is looking much better too!

Hazel is the sweetest little girl and she is doing great in her foster home! She is a champ in her crate even though she’d never been in one before. Sleeps all night in it without a peep! She is doing great getting used to a leash and harness and she is catching on quickly with potty training too! All new things to her! She also met some cats and wasn’t the least bit fazed, completely ignored them!

This adorable, soon to be 4 month old, has a heart murmur, first detected at her 8 week puppy wellness exam and unchanged since then. She will need a cardio consult and an echocardiogram to determine what is going on and what next steps should be. Obviously not cheap so we are looking to you again for help! <img src="https://static.xx.fbcdn.net/images/emoji.php/v9/t80/1/16/1f64f.png" alt="
