We have great news! Delilah Rose had her post-operative check up today and she has healed perfectly! Stitches are out and she has the all clear to resume her zoomies, snuggles and love-hate relationship with Coco the cat!

Even better news for this love bug, she has been adopted by her amazing foster family! How could they resist?! We couldn’t be happier for her and her family! Happy life beautiful girl!

August 13 Update:

Sleepy-head Delilah Rose is doing very well and enjoying being part of a family!

16 month old Delilah had a reoccurring rectal prolapse and persistent diarrhea for at least a month. She also had puppies a couple of months before she came into rescue!

With 2 procedures to correct her prolapse, multiple medications for her diarrhea and a strict gi diet we are hoping it’s enough to avoid a bigger, more complicated surgery. On top of all of that Delilah would also regurgitate frequently so her esophagus was looked at to rule out issues there, nothing abnormal showed up. We’ve added an antacid and that has helped her immensely so we will be looking at a diet change to help with that! Once her health improves enough she will be spayed.

This sweet girl loves people! Loves kids! She loves other dogs! She is uninterested in squirrels, rabbits or cats. She’s just generally a sweet and gentle girl. She deserves the chance to see what life as a valued and loved family member is like!

If you would like to contribute to Delilah’s care you can donate directly on our website https://ecfbrescue.com/about-us/donations/...

Delilah is being fostered in Ottawa, Ontario. Please note that we do not maintain a waiting list and adoption applications are only available when a specific dog is ready for adoption.

Arrived in rescue 23 June 2022
Delilah Rose update!
Little sweet-pea is stable and doing well! She was sedated and had another purse string procedure in the hopes that we can
keep her from re-prolapsing at least until all her test results come back. Colon surgery is always risky because of the chance of contamination and if she happens to be full of parasites they will want to address that beforehand if possible. They are also hoping to give her a chance to gain some strength and recuperate a bit after everything she has been through before facing A major surgery. There is also a possibility that with proper meds, care and nutrition the diarrhoea may resolve and the purse string holds! That would be the ideal situation! If she continues to do well this afternoon we will be picking her up this evening and she will get lots and lots of snuggles and attention!
She is obviously not out of the woods yet but we will take it one day at a time!
This poor 18 pound girl is in sad shape yet she is so sweet! She has lost most of her fur and has small scabs all over her body. She is only 15 months old
Thank you to those who have already donated! Please keep sharing her story so that we can provide her with whatever medical care she needs!
