Update April 9, 2023, Turtle has been adopted by his foster family!

Update Jan 24, 2023

We are having a re-check at the vet next Monday as love bug Turtle is still struggling with some itchies and we want him as well as possible before his surgeries! Turtle is scheduled for his neuter, stenotic nares and palate surgery February 7th! We are hoping his breathing will be greatly improved afterwards!

Turtle is still battling some yeast issues but he is feeling, and smelling, so much better! His face and eyes, paws and wee bum are less puffy and swollen.

This poor guy was a hot mess! he had ear infection in both ears, skin infection, probably has food allergies and a yeast infection.

He is very laid back unless he has a bone or food. He has shown some resource guarding around other dogs with food and bones, he’s very food motivated. Turtle is a gentle and loveable guy. Loves belly rubs!
Seems to prefer women and female dogs but would be very content to be an only dog. He is fully potty trained, walks well on leash but can be very stubborn when he doesn’t want to go in the same direction as you.

Turtle just turned 5 and is being fostered near Ottawa, Ontario and is not yet available for adoption. Please note that we do not maintain a waiting list and adoption applications are only available when a specific dog is ready for adoption.      

Update December 17, 2022

On the left puffy Turtle his first week in care, on the right a much more comfortable and non-puffy Turtle!

Turtle is feeling, and smelling, so much better! His face and eyes, paws and wee bum are no longer all puffy and swollen!

This poor guy was a hot mess! he had ear infection in both ears, skin infection, probably has food allergies, a yeast infection and he still needs to be neutered and have his nares and possibly his palate fixed. He has a boatload of medication which is making him feel much more comfortable!

He is very laid back unless he has a bone or food. He has shown some resource guarding with food and bones, he’s very food motivated. He’s also a humper so his foster family are working on redirecting him when he tries! Turtle is a loveable and snuggly guy. Loves belly rubs!

This sweet soon to be five-year-old has landed in our care under the most heartbreaking of circumstances. Turtle's person is ill and they are no longer able to care for him.

He is very sweet and cuddly, loves belly rubs! He has been hanging out with his foster fur siblings without issue but he is a bit of a humper so we will be working on redirection!
