Dottie

This beautiful girl is ready for her forever home!

This soon to be 2 year old girl was surrendered to us after an unfortunate incident with a small child in the home. No one witnessed what happened exactly but sadly the child was bit. We are told that Dottie has never shown any signs of aggression before even though she has always lived in a home with 2 children. We have taken her to multiple places, had her meet multiple strangers. We've handled her, poked and prodded her, had a vet tech, groomer and vet examine her and we've been unable to get her to react in a negative way. The only thing she has reacted to is having a bath, but even then her reaction is to try and get away. No growling and no attempt to bite. Having said that, we will not take the chance in placing her in a similar situation to the one that got her surrendered in the first place. Therefore we are looking for a home with no children under 12.

The vet noted that her tail is very short so keeping the wrinkle clean is a must. Her ears are slightly thickened which suggests she’s had chronic ear issues.

She also needs to lose a few pounds! Maintaining a healthy weight is very important for all dogs but it is especially important for Frenchies, with their flat faces and predisposition to back issues. We will be looking for someone who takes this seriously and will ensure she reaches and maintains a healthy weight.

Foster mom has taken her all over to new places and she's pretty well behaved but she does pull on leash. A lupi harness works great with her.

Foster mom’s observations so far:
Zero resource guarding
Zero food aggression
Bottom of the pack
If she thinks a dog is going to pick on her she squeals like a pig and runs away.
Loves to play fetch. She is content to play alone or with a dog.
Dottie has met strangers, dogs, cats, pigs and chickens! No issues.

She is as sweet as can be, curious but not anxious. Gentle taking food, housetrained and sleeps in her crate. She loves to be with her people but she can be left alone without issue for 4-6 hours if necessary.

The adoption application is you introducing yourself and while we don't expect you to write a novel, applications with one word answers to every question don't give us much to go on. Thank you.

If you applied within the last 12 months to adopt a dog from us you don't need to reapply but you do need to send us an email explaining why you think Dottie is a good fit for your family.
