UPDATE: ADOPTED!

George is ready for his forever family!

This 35 lbs handsome fella just turned 3 years old in December. He is neutered, micro-chipped and up to date on his vaccines. George is hearing impaired but is catching on so quickly to hand signals! He's very smart and VERY energetic!

George is a true love-bug and loves to be on your lap or very close to you! He is incredibly sweet and will smile at you when he wants kisses! He loves to be with his people! He has shown a preference for men but really does love everyone! His new family should absolutely be dog experienced and ready to work on building a bond and continuing with George's training. He takes a little while to settle, but once he's comfortable he really is so lovable and silly! George is a flight risk, if he gets a chance he will take off running!
Since he can't hear you calling him this is a huge concern so his new family will have to be extra careful with open doors and open gates. George LOVES to run around the yard so a securely fenced in yard is a must for him!

George has a history of nipping at children when they have food and guarding his food from kids. We have seen none of these behaviours in his all adults foster home but in order to set George up for success he will not be placed in a home with children. Keep in mind that George startles easily, especially when he's sleeping because he doesn't hear you coming.

George is excellent for the vet, his baths and enjoys his car rides. He also loves assisting his foster parents while they are out shopping. He loves meeting new people and thinks everyone should say hi to him.
He is house trained and will go to the door and bark when it’s time to go potty.
He prefers to sleep on the human bed and has noted his desire to be under the covers. He is not a fan of the crate and does better left out. He does have some separation anxiety and will do better in a home where someone is home more often than not. He enjoys going for walks but is reactive to other dogs on leash. He hates wearing a harness so he will need some help adapting to an escape-proof harness.

George is dog selective so we are looking for a home where he is the only dog. He is not great with cats either.
