There is No Time Like the Present!

There is no reason why Ernie shouldn't find his forever family now. He has no health concerns and no behaviour concerns other than normal 10 month old dog need for boundaries and exercise.

This 10 month old 'fluffy' boy was surrendered to us because his typical 10 month old bossy pants were too big for the other frenchie in the home. He was stressing her out so his family made the difficult decision to reach out to us to find him his perfect forever home.

Ernie is sweet and playful. He has completed puppy classes and he is housetrained, crate trained and loves car rides! He is energetic and needs daily exercise and stimulation. He's not a 'couch potato lazy' frenchie.

We are looking for an experienced dog owner as he is a typical 10 month old dog who still needs guidance and training. He is very smart and has great manners 90% of the time but he can get excited and is sometimes nippy when excited. Thankfully he is easy to redirect and really wants to be a good boy! You can tell that he wants to please you! We think he will be fun to continue training with as he is very attentive and fun loving! Sometimes he can be a little shy with new people  but does warm up quickly. He gets along well with dogs but definitely would be a pain in the butt with a more submissive dog. If the other dog is confident, playful and respectful then Ernie will get along just fine. He does like to steal toys and guard them from dogs but not from people. He would also be great as an only dog as he is great one on one! He is also fine with cats and the pig that he met!

Ernie did have a grade 1 heart murmur as a young puppy but it has resolved on its own and is completely undetectable now. Why is he fluffy? apparently fluffy frenchies occur when both parents carry a recessive long hair gene or the Fibroblast growth factor 5 (FGF) (we are not experts on genetics but that is what we’ve read) We have no doubt that some greeders also mix in other breeds and claim they didn’t. Either way, any breeder that produces these dogs intentionally should be avoided at all cost. No ethical breeder would breed against their own breed standard.

The adoption application is you introducing yourself and while we don't expect you to write a novel, applications with one word answers to every question don't give us much to go on. Thank you.

If you applied within the last 12 months to adopt a dog from us you don't need to reapply but you do need to send us an email explaining why you think Ernie is a good fit for your family.
