A little before and after of our sweet Minnie Pearl with her new nose!
Pearl had her nares done and we opted for her soft palate to be done today instead of her dental, we didn’t want to do both at the same time because of the risk of bacteria from the dental infecting the soft palate surgery site, and we figure her breathing is more important, she can have a dental later. She also had x-rays of her esophagus, chest, spine and hips as well as bloodwork! Her esophagus is fine the blood work was excellent and we will have the x-rays of her spine and hips sent to her neurologist
They had a really hard time to intubate her but once they were able to she did really well during surgery and was up walking around 15 minutes after they woke her up. She is now home with her foster mom resting!
If you would like to contribute to her ongoing care please donate directly on our website https://ecfbrescue.com/about-us/donations/...

Pearl is so sweet with EVERYONE, including the children in her foster home. She’s seen several dogs with no fuss. LOVES all toys! Listens very well to several commands in French and has done her business outside like a good girl! She is well mannered and an absolute love bug!
The vet thinks she is about 3 or 4 years old and she weighs 18 pounds! she is the sweetest little potato, feisty too! We can’t believe this peanut was on the euthanize list!
Pearl is being fostered in Gatineau, QC and is not yet available for adoption. Please note that we do not maintain a waiting list and adoption applications are only available when a specific dog is ready for adoption.

Minnie Pearl had her check up and vaccines today! She did great and everyone she met fell in love with her! Pearl could benefit from getting her nares done because they are practically closed!

Pearl also recently had a recheck with the neurologist and they tend to think that while an MRI would tell us exactly what is going on it probably wouldn’t change her course of treatment. Since she has improved significantly with medical management, going forward her forever family will have to be mindful of her limitations and not let her jump or run up and down stairs. She may periodically need to be placed on medication and crate rest if she does overdo it. as with any dog predisposed to back issues she may eventually need more invasive intervention, but for now she is doing great and seems very comfortable with minimal medication.

She is so sweet with EVERYONE, including the children in her foster home. She’s seen several dogs with no fuss. LOVES all toys! Listens very well to several commands in French and has done her business outside like a good girl! She has lots of energy and is excitable but is well mannered. An absolute love bug!

The vet thinks she is younger than five. Probably closer to 3 or 4 years old and she weighs 18 pounds! she is the sweetest little potato, feisty too! We can’t believe this peanut was on the euthanize list!

Please welcome Minnie Pearl to ECFBR!!!

This adorable tiny little girl was abandoned at a Montreal shelter due to an ‘undiagnosed neurological issue’.
Thankfully the shelter reached out to us and we were able to pick her up and get her into foster care immediately!

She is said to be five years old and she weighs about 20lbs but looks smaller than that! she is the sweetest little nugget! Once we got her out of a shelter environment she became adorably happy and playful.

We will need to have her assessed by a neurologist so any and all donations would be greatly appreciated! Let’s get this little girl the care she needs so she can put all of this behind her and find her forever family!
