UPDATE: ADOPTED

Jellybean has been with us since he was just 2 days old! He was born with a cleft palate that made it impossible for him to nurse. Puppies like Jellybean don't usually survive. They end up not thriving and often struggle with aspiration pneumonia. Thankfully we have amazing foster homes and Jellybean's incredible foster mom tube fed him around the clock until he was 6 weeks old and able to eat small kibble and drink from a rabbit water bottle.

Jellybean has had surgery to correct his palate and is now ready to start the next chapter in his life as a normal and healthy puppy!

Jellybean is a healthy soon to be 10 month old cutie-pie who is neutered and up to date on vaccines.
He is crate trained and house trained, he will even ring a bell when he needs to go out. Jellybean also has good leash manners and loves to go for a walk! He has been evaluated by 2 professional trainers and was found to have no aggression and no unusual anxiety. He has taken obedience lessons and LOVES learning!

Jellybean loves people! He loves meeting new people and animals. He loves to play fetch and spend some time lying in the sun.

Jellybean needs to continue to be exposed to all kinds of new places, faces and noises in order to become a good canine citizen! His forever family will have to commit to ongoing training with this very smart boy who loves to learn! He is extremely treat motivated, which makes training easy! He’s a very energetic dog who is still learning that the world doesn't revolve around him. The fact that he was hand raised with no other dogs makes it harder to convince him of this fact! Jellybean has shown some resource guarding issues and it is imperative that his new family are prepared to teach him to not be possessive of his food, toys and blankets.  Jellybean needs an experienced family who are calm, confident, consistent and engaging. He will thrive with lots of physical and mental stimulation.  Jellybean will pick up and eat EVERYTHING he finds!  Due to his tendency to nip and resource guard Jellybean is not suitable for a home with children. He would do great as the only dog but could also live with a canine role model who is patient and well trained. He loves cats and loves to play and chase them for fun. Bonus if the cat is willing to play with him.

Jellybean is demanding, mischievous, very smart, very active and very stubborn! His family must understand that he needs on-going training and patience. Understanding that  jellybean spent many weeks on restricted medical supervision when he should have been exploring the world around him will help his new family understand his needs.
